Unlock Progress with Newton's Laws of Motion: A Coaching Guide to Overcoming Fear and Taking Action.

Ok, I'm geeking out a bit and kicking it old school today.

So, do you remember back in the day when you would learn about the beginning of physics and all that craziness?

Well, today, I'm taking you right back there.

Why?

As a coach, I'm fascinated by human behavior and how much we allow fear to rule our lives.

But I'm here to tell you a secret.

You're not doing something.

It just has not been done by you.

Today, I'm going to discuss the first equation, which is Decision + Action = Progress.

Before I discuss each part of this, I'll give you a brief history lesson.

There are laws governing almost everything we do. Not all of them are formally signed into legislation, but they still govern our actions.

So today, I'm going to discuss Newton's Laws of Motion.

If you didn't take physics in high school, I didn't, you may not have learned about this. Or maybe you did but just chose to forget about it.

Isaac Newton, a 17th-century scientist, described three laws explaining why objects move or don't move as they do.

The three laws became known as Newton's Laws of Motion, and they are:

The Law of Inertia states that objects will remain in a certain state unless disrupted by an unbalanced force. So, objects at rest will remain at rest, and objects in motion will continue to be in motion unless something disrupts their state.

The Law of Acceleration: This pertains to the behavior of the object, and the acceleration of the object relies on 2 forces: net force and object mass. Simply put, net force states that an object will accelerate equally to the amount of force pushed upon it. Alternatively, object mass means that if the object is heavier than the force put upon it, the object's speed will decelerate.

The Law of Cause and Effect: For each and every action, there is a reaction.

How does this translate to making progress in life or business?

You control your state and how fast you move or don't move. Your decision activates the speed at which you change your whole state to take action. So get out of your state of confusion and decide on an action, then take it. Notice how clear you become instantly.

You are in charge, and you own the power over your actions. When you are stressed and overwhelmed, you weigh yourself down. Therefore, you are not moving. However, when you take control and decide, you have no choice but to take massive action in the desired direction.

You have the power. You own the momentum, so if you have things that you hate doing in your business, get rid of them. Outsource, find a friend or an intern to help. Focus on your business instead of in your business.

Everyone is watching. Everyone is watching how you act and react. This is your brand, so be very aware of how you present yourself. When you do the work to know your authentic self, this is the easiest thing in the world to navigate. You are grounded, and when you make a decision that doesn't necessarily agree with the majority, you don't care because you acted in alignment with your morals and values.

In the end, all of this helps you make progress, which is what you need to do. So, the next time you are stuck, think about progress.

Think of Newton's Three Laws of Motion: take control and own your power. You're worth it.
