How I Bring Self-Love into My Everyday

Since it’s the month of love, let’s identify how we can incorporate self-love in our daily lives.

First of all, do you know the difference between self-love and self-care? Yes, there is a difference!

Self-love is….tending to a state of being, and that being is you, and above all, being thankful and grateful for yourself.

To achieve self-love, it’s all about actions.

Self-care is... the activities, thoughts, feelings, and actions! Every act of self-care builds up our inner muscle of self-love.

So how do I bring self-love into my own life?

Here are just a few examples of everyday things that I do to help me love myself more:

  • Walking in nature

  • Reading a lovely book

  • Writing a letter

  • Doing some yoga

  • Following a skin-care routine

  • Applying make-up

  • Watching your favorite TV show,

The list can go on and on!

Self-care is any act that shows yourself love! Though I’ve gotta admit, sometimes it’s hard to find that joy daily. So these are my tips for self-love:

1. Prioritize the practice

Schedule those self-care activities if you struggle to find the time for them. I aim to do 3 self-care acts a day, 1) for mental health 2) for spiritual health and 3) for physical health.

So for example, today I will make the time for 10 minutes of journaling (mental), 10 minutes of meditation (spiritual), and 1 hour of walking (physical).

Keep organized with the Bliss Collection Daily Planner to schedule your days of self-love!

2. Create boundaries and stick to them

It’s important to tend to ourselves. By creating boundaries, it allows you to create more time for yourself. For me, my boundaries are; limiting screen time, sticking to daily activities and not straying from a plan.

If you keep a routine that benefits YOU! Your sense of self-love will shine.

Pre-order ‘The Joy of Being Selfish’ by Michelle Elman, highly acclaimed life coach. This book is set to teach us why we need boundaries and how to set them. Sometimes, we have to be a little selfish for ourselves.

3. Mindfulness, gratitude, and kindness (towards ourselves!)

Last of all, we need to stop reaching for perfection. It’s holding us back.

Please, stop criticizing yourself, beautiful soul. Everything in life is a process. Rome wasn’t built in a day and it’s the same for us.

Think about athletes - they weren’t born athletes, but with motivation and perseverance BECOME athletes.

So, remember that you may not achieve your goals tomorrow, or maybe not even the day after that. But with hard work, kindness, and flexibility - your self-love is just around the corner!
