The Ultimate Guide to CBD

Last week it was ‘National CBD Day’, and as I’m always raving about my favourite essential oils, I can’t think of a better time to introduce you to CBD!

Simply, CBD or Cannabidiol is a chemical form of the Cannabid sativa plant or more commonly known as, Marijuana. Just like how essential oils are made from plants and nature, CBD is exactly the same. This specific oil is used to help promote relaxation and can ease pain.

Now I know what you’re all thinking… Jackie, what’s the difference between CBD and Marijuana?

Where does it come from?

While they do come from the same plant, there are 2 components of the cannabis plant; CBD and THC. Without giving a science lesson, the CBD element has all of the healing properties without any of the mind altering effects.

Why do people love it?

CBD is so popular because of its plentiful benefits. It’s been said to help with many health conditions from back pain, anxiety, and in some cases, acne. It’s soothing and safe. Like I always say with essential oils, they are multidisciplinary and they allow us to tap into and improve our energy and wellbeing.

Is hemp oil the same?

Hemp is a little different as it comes from the Hemp plant rather than the Cannabid sativa plant. Hemp has also been removed from the DEA (drug enforcement association) so it is allowed, but it depends on the states.

Is it even legal?

Finally, I’m answering the question on everyone’s minds. Is it even legal? For the most part, yes. While in the USA, there are mixed feelings about cannabis, CBD oil is a little different, as it isn’t the same thing. In some states, Cannabis is fully legal, while in other states, it’s just the oil. Check for yourself the rules.

All in all, CBD and CBD oil is an essential oil that has many benefits. So it’s no surprise that it’s a favourite amongst many.
