What Does the Halloween Moon Mean?
Hello Friends,
The moon is trying to tell us a lot this Autumn season. This October is brimming with opportunities for spiritual growth, reflection, and finding balance. This month has brought us a Harvest Moon on the 1st, a New Moon on the 6th, and now a second Full Moon, often called a Hunter’s Moon, this Halloween.
What is a “Hunter’s Moon”?
A Hunter’s Moon is a full moon that usually follows after a Harvest moon (The first full moon in the same month), like the one we experienced at the start of October 1st. This Hunter’s moon is named for all of the final preparation to be made before Winter’s arrival- so get your to-do lists in order!
… And why is it so special?
Because it is very rare for a Full Moon to fall on the day of Halloween! The chance of a Full Moon falling on Halloween night usually only occurs once every 18 years. In addition to its astronomical rarity, a full moon on a Halloween night also brings in a whole lot of spiritual energy into an already magical night.
Now, what does this mean for you?
Firstly, ready yourself for the seasons to come.
Whether that means stocking up on your favorite pumpkin-flavored goods or preparing your mind to take on any goals you have for this season. Hunter moons are a particularly motivating time to focus on internal healing- use it to feel your best this season.
Second, revisit lessons learned from those who have passed.
Halloween is also an important day to celebrate those who may no longer be with us. Make time to celebrate them and the influence they have had on your life.
Lastly, to embrace your “witchy” side.
Light your candles, have a gathering, cleanse your home or watch your favorite horror movie. Whatever makes you feel like your most magical self, enjoy it this Halloween. Let the full moon inspire you as you welcome its empowering energy!
