National Stress Awareness Day

Today, I wanted to shed some light on a very special day today - it’s National Stress Awareness Day. It’s always on the first Wednesday of November, so what’s a better time to raise some awareness and share some tips for relieving some stress.
Stress is something that affects a lot of people. In the USA, around 55% of people admit to feeling stressed during some part of the day. The problem with stress is that it’s not, like with many things, an isolated situation. Stress can lead to depression, anxiety, and other mental health issues.
A lot of us just live with stress, as if it’s something unavoidable. With work struggles and daily life, I get it. But stress can be managed - we shouldn’t suffer in silence.
Here’s how:
1. Meditate - The benefits of meditation are endless as you probably know already. Relieving stress is just one of them. Read my meditation post to learn more.

2. Rethink your routine - Do you allow yourself time to relax? If not, put that on your to-do list. Try relaxing with a DIY facemask!
3. Disconnect - Take a few hours away from your phone and enjoy nature. There is certainly a correlation between high phone usage and increased anxiety/stress. Take yourself out for a nice walk and be sure to silence your notifications. A little perspective can change a lot.

4. Add essential oils to your everyday routine - Feeling stressed in the morning? Get some oils in the air. Your entire state can be changed with just a few drops.
5. Do things that make you feel less stressed - I know that sounds easy, but sometimes we can’t stop ourselves from getting stressed. Life is stressful. But we can do stuff that doesn’t cause stress. Some examples; spending time with friends, laughing, sleeping, drinking enough water (!) Your day doesn’t have to be stressful.
Take care of yourselves beautiful souls.
