Why Is Self Confidence So Important?

Over the past few weeks, I have been boasting about the best ways to improve self-confidence by doing anything from taking up yoga to self care. I, for one, have been trying these methods out first hand and the effects have been amazing.
Self-confidence is the parallel opposite to low self-esteem. Having low self-esteem is when you, as a person, don’t feel worthy or confident. This can be in regards to our professional successes, body image/appearance, or anxieties. Sadly though, this can also lead to problems with mental health concerns. Those with low self-esteem are more likely to be affected by anxiety and depression. Low self-confidence is an issue for both men and women, and can reach crisis levels amongst younger people, as well as adults.
Simply put, self-confidence is important because you are important. Our lives are short, complicated and most of the time, wonderful. Working towards improved self-confidence can make those not-so-wonderful days brilliant.
Moreso, self-confidence really has the ability to affect many other things:
It improves our mood
Gives us a good perspective
Ultimately leads to success
Helps with anxiety
Improves your relationship(s) with yourself and others
I do realize that self confidence is not as easy as 1 2 3, but I want to share a few books that have helped me realize my own potential and improve my sense of self:
The Four Agreements: A Practical Guide to Personal Freedom. by Don Miguel Ruiz
Warrior Goddess Training: Become the Woman You Are Meant to Be by Heather Ash Amara
