The Tarot Cards for the New Year

The Tarot Cards for the New Year

In honor of the New Year, I will be pulling some cards to prepare us for what's ahead in January!

First I will be providing an energy reading, to tell us what kind of energy the new year will bring. Then I will go through the messages from our higher selves, these are things that we are subconsciously trying to acknowledge within ourselves. The final two are messages from the unseen, this is a foretelling of things we may not yet be aware of, and lastly, messages from our guides, a higher power that watches over us. We are always surrounded by support, and that support can take the form of guides, that although intangible, are there to assist us in our journeys.

The deck used for this reading is the Light Seer’s Tarot Deck by Chris Anne.

Here are our cards for the New Year:

First, the energy reading. This reading will tell us what kind of energy the new year will bring, and how it will influence us.

The First card: “Shining Through”

It is time to get in touch with our most authentic selves and let our light shine through into the new year. We need to continue to focus on our inner growth and self-acceptance- and for those of us who don’t feel quite ready yet in terms of self-love, now is the time!

The Second Card: “ Body and Soul”

We need to draw our attention to ourselves instead of others. We cannot let what others view as right or wrong affect us - instead, we should focus on how we can take care of ourselves- both our outer being and our inner soul. Now is the time for us to nourish your body and mind with nutrition, and rest.

The Third Card: “Time Machine”

If only we could go back in time to two years ago, right? Wrong! We are beyond the point of what used to be normal. This card indicates that it is time for us to reflect on what brings us joy. We will continue to see major changes in all our ways of life, beyond the pandemic, and finding our joy will help us acclimate.

The Fourth Card: “Barring Fruit”

Our world will unfold in a new way. Major changes, both socially and institutional, are upon us this new year. It may shake us to the core but it is something that needs to happen because we will all be stronger for it. May whatever these changes are, bring us more unity and less division.

The next reading is a gathering of messages for our higher selves:

The First Message: “King of Wands”:

Kings represent the highest estate or governing body, while wands represent strength and a new beginning. Leaders, both new and old, will be taking on ideas to get things done.

The Second Message: “The Devil”:

As we continue to navigate through this time of uncertainty, we will be forced to examine the shadows within ourselves and our communities. The old ways no longer work, and so new tools need to be found.

The Third Message: “The Sign of Leo”:

This card denotes the light and dark sides- meaning we must examine ourselves both internally and externally. It is time to build up our knowledge and make our own choices. Try to understand where your information comes from and create your own opinions. Watch, listen and observe where you put your trust and you will be rewarded.

The Fourth Message: “The Three of Wands”:

The number 3 speaks to community, while wands can signify new initiation. This means there will be the emergence of great change- and I believe it will happen rapidly!

Every year brings new surprises - my next reading will focus on the things that are unseen:

First: The 4 of Pentacles

New earthly possessions will fall into our laps this year. We can reflect on how these new things affect us in how or why we work?

Second: The Page of Cups

A page is a card that is said to bring news, while cups are filled with emotions. There will most likely be a shift in our emotions and energy levels. Keep track of how you are feeling and try to understand how you process the news and your emotions. For more information on understanding your emotions, please check out my blog, How to Process Emotions in a Healthy Way.

Third: The 10 of Pentacles:

Another card signifying earthy possession and the emergence of abundance. Not just for ourselves but for all of those around us. We have had to change so much this past year and now it is time for us to realize the resources we already have.

Think of how you have grown during this time, and also in what ways have you stayed the same.

Fourth: The 4 of Wands (in reverse):

For those of us who do not feel or see a change in ourselves- the time is now! By taking care of ourselves, we will see growth and self-recognition. Try to see what parts of yourself you have been neglecting so that you can better accept change this new year.

My final readings will be the messages from our Guides:

First: Ace of Pentacles

Abundance will continue to be given to us but always in ways that we are not expecting.

Second: Ace of Swords

There will be a new wave of thinking this new year starting in January. There will be challenges and resistance but we must realize that we are the ones facilitating the change. We must simply refine our process and trust that we navigate these waters as we have done before.

Third: Three of Pentacles (In reverse)

We must take notice of how we navigate our problems and how we handle change and abundance. Ask yourself, do you get overwhelmed? Remember to reach out and ask for help when needed. Think of how you can rebuild a foundation or find a new community.

Fourth: The Hierophant

A symbol of logic, intellect, and imagination. This card reminds us that the world is filled with endless possibilities.

In January, change will continue to occur and at a more rapid pace than we might be prepared for. We will revisit and observe what things are working- and what things are not.

If you are someone who struggles with change, take a deep breath and remember that change is an important part of life. Think about how you anchor yourself within? What tools do you already possess? The world will be different but we will always persevere and thrive.

We will plan for this change together!

Always here to support you,
Jackie
