What I've Learned About Change…
Today, I’m talking about change that causes disruption in our lives. Not the tiny changes that can occur regularly.
But instead, the kind of change that can cause us to feel: overwhelmed, distressed, anxious because we cannot ground ourselves.
We are meant to experience this because it helps us react to life’s challenges.
What is change?
It’s an act of trying to elevate us and grow us to a new level or state of being.
We’ve simply outgrown our older ways!
It’s usually sudden or unexpected - which creates this perfect space for growth.
Change is an upgrade.
We need to pay attention to:
What we are thinking
How we are feeling
How we are behaving
We can receive a lot of information regarding these, but we have to pay attention.
Here are my tips and tricks on how to navigate change with EASE and GRACE:
The key to all of this is being gentle with yourself.
1. Slow yourself down
This is essential to recognize the key information. Take time to breathe.
2. Deep belly breathing
Your body is in flight or fight response, allow yourself time to dig deep and try deep belly breathing. Learn how to do this here:
3. Journal
Take inventory of what is going on with your body, see when you experience certain feelings. Look at the patterns in front of you.
4. Tune into the ability to be an ‘owl’
Observe, Watch, Listen and learn. Stay silent and watch the world.
